Wandering The Windy City
Chicago has been on my list of places to travel since before I started styling. This trip was a bit pleasure and a bit work which is always the perfect combo, right? In between meetings I was able to explore the city which is rich in history and culture. There is a river that runs right through the middle of the city which is dope. The architecture is on another level which skyscraper condos 60+ floors up with jaw dropping views of the city. Being that my main purpose was fashion, I had to check out the Magnificent Mile. A long strip of the best fashion in the city and some of the most fabulous hotels around. I was able to connect with lead stylist, general managers, and menswear teams of various brands. The food scene is quite vast from Italian to French to Mexican and surprisingly even great sushi! I just couldn’t resist trying a “Chicago Dog”? A hot dog topped with yellow mustard, chopped white onions, bright green sweet pickle relish, a dill pickle spear, tomato slices or wedges, pickled sport peppers and a dash of celery salt. OOOMMMGGG, yeah it sounds like a lot, the flavors work perfectly to create sensory overload with every bite. If you’re in the city and need to find the most authentic dog you’ll want to go to Downtown Dogs. While I know SD has the Mexican food game on lock Chi-town has opened my eyes to adding goat cheese in your burrito, for sure a game changer! My trip to The Windy City was a complete success and it looks like I’ll be returning for a week in July to pitch more ideas and start working with some great PR firms.
