Scavenging The Highlands
Last night I had the pleasure of attending the Summer Kick Off Party at Del Mar Highlands hosted by Where Magazine. I figured it would be the standard cocktails, lite bites, and mixing of social influencers and media people. To my surprise the format was scavenger hunt style, hell yeah! The guest list was influencers and hotel/hospitality concierge. It was one of the best networking events I’ve been to in a while, because I got to meet so many people I didn’t know. My good friend Anna and I conjured up a full plan of attack to nab all stickers, which consisted of starting at the furthest target working our way back as well as a little divide and conquer. First stop was Searsucker where we were greeted with the most delicious of meatballs floating in a romano sauce topped with whipped ricotta. As if that wasn’t enough to send my taste buds in tail spin there was wagon wheel pasta mac & cheese with Vermont cheddar and bacon. I seriously contemplated just forfeiting the hunt and setting up shop there for the next two hours. Other vendors included Lolo, Sidecar (friggin heavenly donuts), Brazilia (where I got my brows threaded for the first time), Club Pilates and a couple other cool spots. Impactful events like this increase both by network and knowledge which better help me serve my clients. I’m a huge fan of the arts and I must say one of the highlights was receiving complimentary tickets to the San Diego Symphony. Oh, and the excitement really went through the roof when I saw Queen Patti Labelle is part of the summer performance line up AHHHHHHHH !!!!!
