Exquisite Cuisine @ Et Voila!

If you follow me on social media and are an avid reader of my blog you know I'm obsessed with all things French. Most recently I tried out a new French cuisine spot in Normal Heights called Et Voila. The restaurant is extremely well decorated, but still inviting and the staff is beyond pleasant. It was such a tough decision deciding which of the starter plates I would try, everything looked so appetizing! One of the many things I find so pleasant about French dining is that it really speaks to all senses. From how the dishes are pronounced, the savory sounds, the smells, how beautifully things are plated, and most importantly the taste! I ordered the Huckleberry Bourbon which was a very refreshing and smooth drink, would definitely get again. After a few more minutes as well as sips I opted for the Croustillant Chaud De Reblochon. After it came out I wondered if that was French for "tasty piece of art"! Flaky phyllo dough stuffed with Reblochon cheese sitting on top of a berry jam. Fact; Reblechon is a soft washed-rind and smear-ripened French cheese made in the Alpine region of Savoy from raw cow's milk (you're welcome). Of all the land animals it's lamb that I tend to shy away from, however I knew that if there was ever a time to venture out it was here. OMG can I just say I'm so glad that I did! You absolutely must have the Duo D'agneau En Croute D'Herbes, Panisses, Sauce A L'ail. It's the Australian lamb tenderloin and grilled lamb chops, braised flageolets, panisses, and garlic lamb sauce. The entree was so exquisite I had to pay compliments to the chef directly. Chef Vincent Viale was kind enough to chat with me about everything from the seasonings to why he selected certain cheese and so much more. Oh and you have not had a souffle until you've had their souffle! It's just heavenly and exactly how image clouds would taste. In a time where restaurants are popping up, what seems to be like overnight, it's wonderful experiences like this that ensure years of success.
